Vikinglotto Prizes and Odds

Viking Lotto offers a large first prize pool every week, plus six other ways to win. To win the top prize, you need all six of your main numbers and the Viking ball to be the same as the winning numbers randomly selected on the Wednesday evening. You can also win prizes on Joker on the same night.

The first two prize pools in Viking Lotto are shared between all the participating countries. A portion of every ticket sold in each nation is allocated to each of these categories, as shown in the table below.

6 Main Numbers 1 in 15,339,390 €0.013 0 8 0.9 1

The allocation is in Euros because that is the currency of most of the participating countries. The exchange rate on the day of the draw dictates how much the Danish Lottery transfers to the common prize pool. An allocation worth €0.042 per row is also given to a savings pool, which is used to make sure that the minimum top prize of €3 million (approximately 22 million kroner) can always be put up for grabs.

The top Viking Lotto prize grows when it is not won and can get up as high as €25 million (approximately 190 million kroner). If it reaches €25 million, the money that would normally go to the top prize is instead diverted to the second prize pool.

It is up to each participating country to decide on the other prizes they offer alongside the top two. In Denmark, you can win prizes for matching as few as three main numbers. The following table shows all the prize levels, the odds of winning and the percentage of the prize fund allocated to each category.

Joker Prizes

There is a Joker draw every Wednesday alongside Viking Lotto, as well as another one on Saturday. Joker is an optional game that you can play for an extra 10 kroner on top of your Viking Lotto ticket, and you will receive a random number with seven digits between 0 and 9. To win a Joker prize, you must match at least the last two numbers of the seven that are drawn on the night. The more you match in order, the greater the value of your prize. If you get all seven, you win at least 2 million kroner. The first prize pool in Joker rises to the next draw if nobody wins.
